Comprehensive Early Childhood Classes

PRESCHOOL ALTERNATIVE CLASSES
Preschool alternative classes are comprehensive courses that begin each fall and end each spring.  Classes are designed to teach the whole child, and include experiences in language, science, math, art, music, culture, and social interaction.  For information on enrolling your child in a comprehensive class, please call Julie Klein at (563) 344-4170.  For information on curriculum or to schedule a tour, please contact Rachel DeMaris at (563) 344-4166.

 Age: 3 by September 1, 2008 and eligible to attend Kindergarten in 2010
 Fee: $980 per year
 Dates: Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM - Noon
This school year adventure begins with hands-on art, science, movement, and a big measure of smiles and experimentation.  Activities increase in difficulty throughout the year, shaping up fine and gross motor skills and a real appreciation of good manners, teamwork, and sharing.

 

Old Blues Gallery......... Code: F107.OB
 Age: 4 by September 1, 2008 and eligible for Kindergarten enrollment in 2009
 Fee: $1,470 per year
 Dates: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Pre-Kinder kids love Old Blues' emphasis on learning through the arts.  Parents love Old Blues for its Kindergarten readiness focus on skills.  Kids become world travelers, explorers, scientists, and artists as they make connections between and among ideas, learn to work independently and as a team.  They paint, sing, build, mix, measure, and even get weekly dance and movement lessons!  Those enrolled in Literally Yours bring their brown bag lunch and stay on site to eat and play before the next class. 

 

Literally Yours......................... Code: F107.LY
 Age: 4 by September 1, 2008
 Fee: $615 per year
 Dates: Monday and Wednesday, 1:15 - 2:30 PM
Designed to help children achieve command of symbols and words before they actually begin formal reading, Literally Yours encompasses multidisciplinary techniques including rhymes, songs, word games, fiction and non-fiction, guided reading and phonics, plus lively acting out to enhance verbal skills.  Terrific in tandem with Old Blues.

 

Discounts for extended classes: Receive a 5% annual discount on full cost for Old Blues and Literally Yours together!  Those enrolled in extended programs will pack a lunch and drink and enjoy supervised play during the 45-minute break between classes.
