Age: 4 or 5 years
Fee: $264.00.  Annual fee invoiced in two installments (monthly installments available with a one-time $10 handling fee - please mark your registration form)

Begin your youngster's high-energy dance track at the Family Museum!  All 45-minute programs move students forward in ballet and tap positions, tempo, rhythm, and choreography with carefully selected children's music.

Safe fun and good coordination are primary goals as kids learn the prerequisites for dancing on taps, take a break for storytime, and practice their listening and counting skills.  Tap shoes required.  Leotards and tights optional.

Learn basic ballet vocabulary and primary dance steps while we gently introduce dance etiquette, learn the importance of counting, moving in unison, and listening for direction.  A quiet time to settle down is always included in the beginning.  Leather ballet shoes required.  Leotards and tights may be worn but are not required.

Dance isn’t just about the steps, but about telling great stories, too!  Begin class with a short ballet warm-up followed by time to express your creative side by listening and dancing to the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm.

Glide with the grace of floating petals and fluttering gossamer wings as we dance to the stories of fairies and the flowers they call home.   We’ll dance as tulips, sunflowers, buttercups, poppies, and Thumbelina in this ballet inspired class.

Dance to the stories of some of your favorite princesses including Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel, Belle and Snow White.  We will even make up our own princess dance on the last day!  Don’t forget your gowns and crowns!

Dream of becoming a ballerina?  Get an early start with this class as we introduce young dancers to basic ballet technique while working on musicality, grace, and self-expression.  Ballet shoes required.

Can’t stop those funky feet?  We’ll shuffle and flap our way through class as we work on our fancy footwork, rhythm, and building combinations of steps.  We’ll play some fun dance games along the way as well!  Tap shoes required. 

Hip Hop ‘til You Drop.................. Code: D108

A fun and funky class to get your body moving!  Energy, enthusiasm, and freedom of expression are the keys to learning this style of dance.  You’ll learn some hot new moves, maybe a few tricks, and get a great workout at the same time!  Jazz or hip hop shoes required.

Musical Theater Dance................ Code: D109

Do you love “High School Musical,” “Hairspray,” and “Grease?”  Learn how to dance like a Broadway performer with this introduction to musical theater dance taught by St. Ambrose senior theater major, Stephanie DeLacy.  You don’t need dance experience, just a love of performing and the stage!  Ballet or jazz shoes.

A great class for boys who love to move!  Boys will build an understanding of rhythm, posture, and coordination as they learn some cool hip hop moves in the first session, or challenge their speed and footwork with tap in the second session.  Jazz shoes or sneakers required for hip hop, tap shoes required for the second session.

Join award winning clogger Mollie Reiss for this fast paced, foot stomping intro to clogging.  Dancers are invited to bring a parent, relative, or friend to have tons of fun making lots of noise and learning some high energy routines!  Beginners are welcome.  All you need is a smile and your tap shoes!
