Kindergarten Readiness

This class will focus on all things math! Geometry (shapes and patterns), measurement, the language of math (more than, less than), and spatial relations (in front of, behind, etc.) Prepare your preschooler to be math-ready for Kindergarten. Perfect add-on to your morning preschool class. *Must be potty-trained; no pull-ups, please.  Call (563) 344-4170 to register. Class fees do not include admission to the Museum. 

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 5 - December 21 No class the week of Thanksgiving. 

Cost: $450 (4 payments of $112.50/month)

Early Out Art/Design Studio

Use your early out time to get creative!  Explore different art mediums to help make props, set pieces, or backdrops for the Family Museum’s Fall Events. Kids will work collaboratively to problem solve and get to see their work on stage at Scarecrow Shenanigans and Winterfest. Summer Ballet for Current Dance Students

Age: 10+ (Ballet 4 or higher)
Fee: Classes are $10 each, pay when you get there, cash only please.
Dates: Monday evenings, 5:30 - 7:00 pm June 12 - August 7.
Intermediate and Advanced dancers looking to stay in shape are invited to take our open ballet classes this summer! Taught by Family Museum dance staff, alumni, or guest teachers, classes will meet Monday evenings from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. No registration required. You may come as often or as little as you like! 

The Wonderful World of Oz

Age: 4 - 6 years (4 years by June 1, 2017)
Fee: $100
Dates: July 31 - August 4, 9:30 - 11:30 am
Twist like a tornado, dance like a munchkin, and skip down the yellow brick road with your friends! Each day will involve movement activities, crafting, and a snack. Dancers should wear active wear, with bare feet, tennis shoes, or dance shoes. Come click your heels with us! Register

Off to Neverland!

Ever dreamed of being a Pixie Hollow fairy, a mischievous lost boy, or a swashbuckling pirate? Come fly away to Neverland with Peter and Wendy! Princess Favorites

This magical dance camp will thrill your little princess! We’ll dance to the music and stories of some of your favorite princesses, including Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel and Snow White. An enchanting week of dancing, creativity, and finding your inner princess will end with a visit from a very special guest. Dancers should wear active wear with bare feet or ballet shoes, leotard, and tights. Princess attire is optional! Register

Dress Up and Dance

Construction Engineers - FULL

Using different building materials from Legos to newspaper, meet the challenge of building structures bigger, taller, or stronger. Spend one class session in ThinkShop putting your new knowledge to the test. Register

Learn to Draw: Cartoons, Comics, and Animation - FULL

Age: 7 – 10 years (age 7 by June 1, 2017)

Try your hand at turning your drawings into stories. Mr. Glenn will instruct kids how to create pictures and story lines for beginning cartooning and animation. No previous drawing experience required. Register

Imagination Dollhouse!

Little Sprouts Gardening Camp - FULL

Home School Art: Drawing and Painting

Learn about perspective, distance, shadows, how to draw portraits, and other drawing techniques. Beginning Pottery

It’s pottery for beginners.  Miss Grace will teach the basics of hand-building using a variety of clays. Inventor’s Club with Mr. Glenn - Kids Rule!

Put on your thinking caps and join the Inventor’s Club. Mr. Glenn will put your imagination skills to the test in this fun, creative after school program. Kids will rule the lessons! Spanish for Kids!

Mail in only registration for Spanish must be postmarked no earlier than Saturday, February 4, 2017. Online registration is not available. Please use registration form.

Introduce your child to Spanish through our comprehensive, year-long exploration of language and culture. Taught by Valerie Alves, an experienced preschool instructor and native Spanish speaker, this unique program uses a creative hands-on curriculum to build language skill. A wide variety of activities, including games, music, and group interactions, are used to build vocabulary that reinforces and encourages successful communication in Spanish. Lessons focus on daily language used by students, and each student is encouraged to speak Spanish and have fun!

Spanish classes start the week of September 11, 2017, with breaks that coincide with the Family Museum's Preschool Alternative class schedule. ** Deposit due at time of registration**

Our teachers utilize a variety of teaching techniques to bring out the best in each individual child. Our balanced approach to academics, art, and social development encourages growth in your child as a whole person. Reading comes with exposure to words, a chance to practice in a safe environment, and with supportive adult guidance that builds confidence. Children who add Literally Yours to Old Blues bring a sack lunch and are escorted to class.

Our teachers utilize a variety of teaching techniques to bring out the best in each individual child. Students will experience the arts, science, math, literacy, character education, creative movement, and Kindermusik every week.
